We created the StrainFinder with one goal: help you find the cannabis strain that is right for you.
To help you discover what cannabis can do, we go beyond just THC percentages or conventional Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid categories to focus on what really matters.
Backed by our own rigorous scientific analysis, industry data and consumer feedback, we have defined 6 distinct groups, which we call Strain Families. These "families" are united by key traits such as: terpene profile, common lineage, and customer experience.
1. Which time of day would you like to consume (Daytime, Anytime, or Nighttime)?
While everyone's bodies are a little different, our experience with these strains and the cannabinoids and terpenes they produce helps us put them into these buckets.
2. Are you seeking a Light or Strong effect?
While THC% isn't everything that contributes to the power of a strain, it does play a big part. This rating is built using our lab testing, our history with the strains, as well as staff/customer feedback.
3. Do you want to Unwind or Uplift?
This one can be complex. With any strain, cannabinoids like THC and CBD can be thought of as the "engine", while the terpenes can be seen as the "steering wheel", pushing the experience one direction or another. We use terpene data, genetic lineage, as well as staff/customer experiences to determine this.
4. Do you prefer Mild or Bold aromas?
The type and amount of terpenes both play important parts in a strain's scent profile. Whether you're looking for something soft, floral and pleasant, or something pungent, sharp, and gassy, The Botanist has a strain for you.
